Warm Welcome and Orientation for the International School_Events

Following the opening ceremony of the School of International Education (SIE) on the 26th September, the full class, totally 21 international students from 9 countries were provided a special orientation event in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Chaired by the Coordinator Zhang Yuan, the teachers of SIE and students representatives of the program Language Buddy formally introduced themselves to the international students and expressed their welcome and congratulations.

The Dean of SIE, Li Ying, gave a general account of the situation and development of the China Women’s University (CWU), stressed the importance of “social work” and “women's leadership”. Next, Dr. Zhang Yuan introduced the overall teaching system of the program, the focus of this semester, and the recent arrangement of teaching and activities. Showing plenty materials and charts, her detailed orientation talk provides the new students a helpful outline of their study map and time schedule.

After that, students were passionate about self-introduction, sharing their own name and background, family, hobbies, national culture and so on. They indicated their appreciations to Chinese government for their support, as well as the SIE and CWU for their professional and thoughtful management in their application and enrollment process. They also thanked the Language Buddies for their warm help and nice companion.

Through this activity, the international students who have just arrived in China will have an in-depth understanding of their own university and school, projects and learning routes. Furthermore, it also helps to bridge and deepen the communication between the teachers, students and Language Buddies. A warm international big family has been set up!
